FAQs

What are some common wellness challenges in the legal community that this Institute strives to address?

Countless wellness challenges interfere with the lives of attorneys. While mental health and addiction are prevalent issues, there are other physical, mental, and environmental stressors that impact attorneys’ well-being. The Virginia State Bar’s Special Committee on Lawyer Well-Being produced a report that identifies specific aspects of the practice of law that might create risks to attorneys’ well-being. Download the report here.

While our Institute will explore challenges in a productive way, visit this page for available resources to support you in the meantime.

Do I have to be a musician or artist to participate in this Institute?

This Institute is designed with the non-musician in mind! No musical ability is required; in fact, it may be better that way! We believe in the healing power of music, and music therapists and professional songwriters will lead discussions and workshops in a welcoming way that encourages attendees to explore how creative expression can support their own wellness journey. Learn more about the workshop here.
